Shure S55P Mic Stands and A55M Shock Mounts
Originally conceived as a "distant pickup" solution for stage or studio use, I have for sale a pair vintage Shure S55P mic stands consisting of a low profile metal tripod stand and A55M shock mount. This version is suitable for 545, SM57, SM58 and other mics of similar dimensions.
Used as designed, a mic mounted in the S55P is positioned parallel to the stage or studio floor - and about 1/8" above it. This unusual positioning minimises comb filtering and increases mic output level because of the acoustic boundary effect provided by the floor. The tripod legs can be mounted the other way up to use as a desk mic stand, talkback mic etc. The A55M shock mount can also be removed from the tripod completely and used as normal on any mic stand.
One stand and mount is in better condition than the second. See pictures for condition.
