Rare Stangl Pottery Plum, 12" Diameter, Low Salad Serving Bowl, Pattern Number 3203
Designed and manufactured by Stangl Pottery located in Trenton, New Jersey, the Plum low salad serving bowl was produced in the late 1930s. The low salad serving bowl has a satin glaze and is decorated with a cluster of three large blue plums on a brown background.  The entire outside of the bowl and an inner band is seafoam green in color and the rim of the bowl is painted dark blue in color.
The base of the bowl is marked in dark blue paint as "Stangl Pottery 3203 Hand Painted Ewing" as an underglaze mark. In 1938, Gerald Ewing designed the Plum #3203 pattern for Stangl Pottery, and he hand painted and signed the salad serving bowl.
The low salad bowl measures approximtely 12 inches in diameter and 3 inches in height.  Weight of the bowl is approximately 3 pounds.
Please see all 12 photographs as they are part of the description. The bright white areas in the photos are from light reflections off of the satin glaze when the photographs were taken. The low salad serving bowl is in very good condition. There are no chips, breaks, or repairs. The colors are bright and vibrant.  Rarely does this large low salad serving bowl from the late 1930s come up for sale.  This vintage bowl would be ideal for decorating as it would be the focal point on any table.
