Stangl Pottery Blue Tulip Chop Plate, Pattern Number 3637
Designed and manufactured by Stangl Pottery located in Trenton, New Jersey, the Blue Tulip dinnerware pattern was first introduced in 1942 and was produced by Stangl until at least the 1960s. The top of the chop plate is decorated with blue tulip flowers that have green leaves and accents and brown stems. The stems and flowers are carved into the plate.  Blue accent bands are present on the front of the plate and the rim of the plate is also blue in color. The base of the chop plate is marked with the Stangl underglaze mark and Tulip.
The chop plate measures approximtely 12.25 inches in diameter.  Weight of the chop plate is approximately 2.3 pounds.
Please see all 12 photographs as they are part of the description. The bright white areas in the photos are from light reflections off of the glaze when the photographs were taken. The chop plate is in very good condition. There are no breaks, repairs, or crazing. The glaze is bright and shiny, and the plate displays very well as you can tell from the photographs. The only minor flaw is that the rim of the plate contains one very miniscule manufacturing glaze pop and three very small scratches (not chips) of the blue paint.  I illustrated these flaws under extreme high magnificaton in Photo 12.  The glaze pop is at the extreme left of Photo 12 and two of the scratches are to the right of the glaze pop. The flaws are very minor and could easily be missed during an inspection of the plate because they are so very small and on the rim of the plate that is not visible when the plate is displayed.
