    High Mass Speaker Stands by Sound Anchors for Critical Audio Listening and Monitoring. Welded, built, and ballasted like a tank. I had these custom made 30 years ago by Sound Anchors of Florida (http://soundanchors.com ) when I was producing soundtracks and editing dialog and needed a high mass desktop near-field speaker stand system for critical listening. These stands can also be used to raise mid-field speakers off the floor for sofa level listening. A new pair from Sound Anchors costs a few hundred dollars. This pair has pointed rubber feet. You can get metal pin feet and Blue Dot Sorbothane disks to place where your speaker contacts the plate from Sound Anchors if you have the need. Here are the dimensions per stand: weight 26.6 lbs, base 12 x 12', plate 10 x 10", column height 12.5", maximum plate height 12".
