Description:
Fritz Aquatics Mardel Maracyn Oxy (freshwater/saltwater) Solution treats infections resulting from fungus on fish and eggs. The symptoms of these infections include clamped fins, swollen eyes, heavy or rapid breathing, patchy coloration, or any change in behavior of the fish. These infections will appear as whitish tufts of cotton-like material. Maracyn Oxy has been shown to be effective against certain gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Additionally, Maracyn Oxy can be used to treat bacterial diseases. Maracyn Oxy slowly releases small amounts of a stabilized oxygen-chlorine compound which, when used as directed, has the unusual ability to treat a wide variety of tropical fish diseases. Fungus infections are very difficult to treat, and are usually the result of an injury on the fish, recent parasite wounds, or bacterial infection. True fungal infections are generally found at the site of these wounds, and have a cotton-like look, much like mold found on bread, fruit, or cheese. Once the fungus begins to grow, it will continue to engulf the fish, usually resulting in death. Maracyn Oxy halts the fungus growth, and then begins to treat the source. All suspected bacterial infections should be treated immediately.
Important:
Not suitable for starfish or related species
Use of separate hospital tank is recommended
It is wise to check water quality levels before administering any water treatment
Maracyn Oxy is not a toxic material, but may cause reaction in some people
In case of skin contact, flood skin with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical care
In case of eye irritation, flood eyes with plenty of water. Call physician immediately
In case of accidental ingestion, consume large quantities of milk. Contact physician
Consult a veterinarian or fish expert for assistance in diagnosis of disease causing organisms and treatment options
Dosage:
Switch off UV sterilizers during treatment
It is recommended to increase aeration
Instill ½ capful (2.5 ml) per 10 US Gallons (38 L). Repeat as needed. DO NOT exceed 5 days treatment
Normal filtration and air dispersion is recommended
Should fish exibit signs of distress, the medication can be neutralized using an aquarium de-chlorinator (
