Extremely Rare and Scarce Stangl ~Country Life~ 8” 2 Ducks Coupe Soup Bowl.
The Country Life pattern was designed by Kay Hackett and first sold in 1956. After just a few short years of production, in 1958 they realized that certain pieces were too costly to produce - this Double ”Dunking” Duck Soup Bowl is one of those pieces. This is the original design that was only produced between 1956-1958. The more widely found Duck Coupe Soup bowls feature only one Duck (without the second little guy’s toochie up in the air).
The Bowl is in Excellent Used Condition and it has absolutely no dark areas and no chips or hairline cracks. It does have a few utensils marks as well as one area on the outer rim that must not have been fully painted - it shows as having light speckles but the glaze is completely smooth which leads me to think that it was something that happened during the painting process.
