ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CIGARETTE CASE/CARD HOLDER BY WILLIAM NEALE & SON LTD.

Description

A lovely antique English sterling silver cigarette holder/card case by William Neale & Sons Ltd., 1927. Art Deco style design features engine turned exterior with three gold washed bands. Has push button opening mechanism, gold washed interior, and contains original fabric band for securing contents. Case measures approx. 3.25"l x 2.75"w x .25"d, weighs approx. 96g/3.3oz. It is in fair antique condition, with general tarnish, light surface scratches, a few small nicks/dings (mainly to case edges and one corner), and some fading to the gold washed details - see pictures. The securing band is also very dry and delicate, and there is some residue to the interior. Interior is stamped once with William Neale & Sons Ltd. maker's mark, the Birmingham anchor mark, and Pat No 219190, and twice with the British sterling lion and letter C date mark (for 1927). Interior is also engraved "March 1930, Rene.".
