    Description

These bonds were used to pay for the Centennial buildings that were built at the state fair in Dallas. The people who bought the bonds actually lost their money because the buildings/fair were not as popular as the bank thought it would be at the time.
From the State Fair Website: "In 1934, largely through the efforts of civic leader R.L. Thornton, Fair Park was selected as the central exposition site for the proposed Texas Centennial celebration. No state fair was scheduled in 1935, and construction began on a million project that transformed the existing fairgrounds into a masterpiece of art and imagination. The 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition attracted more than 6 million people during its six-month run."
Part of that million came from the sale of these bonds.
It is a 00 bond that became worthless after the fair began in 1936.
Winner pays 1.00 for postage and handling.
